ACT
Our Story:
On January 1, 2002 U.S. Army Forces were activated in response to the attacks on the World Trade Centers. Immediately after arriving Afghanistan teams were dispersed throughout the country. During our tour Medics built clinics, treated countless Afghan civilians, trained Health Care Providers and saved numerous lives. Our mission included engineers and other team members upgrading the local standard of living through building projects in conjunction with Civil Affairs units.
The strong bonds that we developed did not end when we returned home and we have not forgotten our friends in Afghanistan. To this day there are many basic humanitarian needs that have not been met. Much of this is due to non-government organizations (NGOs) ceasing efforts throughout the country due to violent attacks and abductions of their workers.
ACT was launched in late 2008 by U.S. Army Veterans to provide humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan. We are professionals with full-time careers ranging from aerospace engineering to medical device sales who to date have been volunteering our time and personal finances in order to help the Afghan people.
With your help, we will develop ACT into a self-sustaining humanitarian organization that will help meet the continuing needs of our friends in Afghanistan while helping them put an end to the ever-growing Taliban insurgency.
A door has been opened. But unless we help now, we may never get another chance.
Your help is the only way we can continue. Will you help us?
