Education:

Education and Health Care for those who need it most

ACT believes that terrorism is best fought preemptively through education and opportunity. By educating the younger generation in traditional subjects we provide parents and their children an alternative to sending their sons to a strictly Islamic fundamentalist program in a madrassa(religious school),which often teaches a doctrine of hate toward the West. Without an alternative or funds to staff a community school, parents have no choice but to send their children to these institutions or simply eliminate their children's education altogether.

ACT Building schools and health care facilities using a local labor force and supplies purchased from their communities stimulates the local economy. This offers true ownership and control over their own teaching and health care facilities. It also creates a desire to resist outside pressures when confronted by Islamic fundamentalists who want to close down a school that the people of the community have built for their children. ACT believes that educational opportunities should also be afforded to girls. An education allows these young women to learn new skills, make better choices for the future and empowers them to one day become leaders within their communities. We have listed below what it costs for school construction and operation.

One 4 room school with an office: $16,000.00

One teachers salary for a year: $600.00

Cost to staff a school for one year: $3200.00
